Calmly deal with the early rebellious period; don't let

When children are old enough to go to primary school, some parents see a significant shift in some children. Their “lovely babies” seem to become disobedient, have their own ideas and even argue with them. This stage is a key period for children to accumulate knowledge and ability rapidly, to develop unique personalities, as well as to form their outlook on life values. Parental attitudes and guidance are particularly important.

During this stage, parents should communicate with children frequently and educate them in a more patient and careful manner. Education methods vary with different children, but here are several principles parents must keep in mind.

First, talk less and listen more. At this stage, children gradually have their own ideas and are eager to express them. Parents should provide guidance, interacting with children and encouraging them to talk about what they encounter.

Then, set up appropriate limits. Encouraging children to speak and act does not equal total liberty. Rules must be set for children to follow, having them understand what behaviors and qualities are correct. What values do you expect your children to uphold in the future? Parents can make a list, use little things in daily life to elaborate their ideas and give timely guidance.

Finally, praise accordingly. Children seek parental encouragement to increase their sense of achievement. However, excessive and ultimately unrealistic praise leads to a loss of meaning in their actions and achievements, which will neither encourage them, nor be beneficial to their long-term development.
